Portraits of Women

I absolutely love portraiture as an art form. I always make a point of visiting the National Portrait Gallery in London when I'm there. In particular, I find myself often captivated by portraits of women which are more abstract in nature and less literal. Click through the slideshow above to see a few paintings which I currently love.

The Gallant Pluck by Erin Armstrong

Midcentury Expressionist Seated Portrait of a Girl by Jennings Toffel
